. productDescriptionLong: The serenity and rhythm created by folds of cloth can be mesmerizing. The patterns of light and dark repeat but never exactly the same way twice. Before one fold ends the next has already begun, each an individual but also affect by all those around it. Here a hint of light glows through the fabric and allows us to see through slightly hinting at what is beneath it. On the left the cloth flows and drapes like a cascading waterfall and to the right the cloth coils into something like water draining away.

The stuffed monsters expression changes when seen through the glass to reveal that he is, in fact, smiling on the inside. The metal reflection blend into abstract shapes but the artists studio and outline can be found in the details of the reflection.

Featuring a night scene in one of the most wondrous and enchanting cities in the world this is a place that will always be in the heart of those who spend time there. In a unique process so time consuming that it will probably never be used again, the original photo was posterized and abstracted using a computer then meticulously transferred to bristol board then painted with toned and hue shifted gouache to provide realistic color elements to an almost non-representational scene. Many details of life are shown including two people seated at the bar below to help transport the viewer to this amazing destination. |

. productDescriptionLong: A monochromatic piece done using premium black and white oils on archival canvas. The cup is actually very large and has a snow man face on the other side. It was a gift from my Grammie (Elaine) Pierce, one of the most wonderful people I've had the good fortune of having in my life. I wanted a sleek and circular composition that would flow well without being interrupted by little details but I love knowing that the smiling snowman face is there just out of view. This was actually my first oil painting as an adult so it holds a special place for me sentimentally and I thank its potential future owner for giving it a good home.
As always, no solvents were used to ensure the painting will last hundreds of years. |
